Soap Carving

ASSIGNMENT || "Interpret three-dimensional mass, space and form into a small scale, proportioned model" 

Artist Statement: During this project, I attempted to replicate the plastic duck by slowly chipping away from, first the top of the soap and the surrounding areas. It was essential to understand the shapes that made up the plastic structure then recreate those basic shapes. 

If I were able to do this again, I would take more time and compare my soap to the plastic duck more often. I feel that the second time around I got the basic shapes better, but more composition was too this and did not make it through the hurricane. I also did not take side by side comparison pictures which would have allowed the viewer more context.
